How I turned my Dining Room into a Lavish Bedroom!

Moving into your first apartment is always exciting! I couldn't wait to finally be able to not only have my own place, but to be able to get creative and decorate it as I chose. While the excitement began to overwhelm me, I forgot how apartments in New York actually look! Most the apartments are small, dated, and don't really leave much room for creativity. People always tell you that when you get your first apartment, you have to compromise something. So that's what I did. After searching and finally finding a place I loved: Updated full kitchen, modern bathroom, nice size living room and dining room, pet friendly, washer and dryer in unit, balcony, and of course, in my price range! However, the bedroom was extremely small...the compromise. I was going to walk away from the apartment, but I had this idea. Why not turn my dining room into a bedroom, turn the bedroom into a walk-in closet, and create an eat in kitchen! And that's what I did. Just a trip to home depot, and some work from my uncle and step father, and it was complete. In just two weeks, I had the apartment of my dreams. Below are pictures of the transfromation. Hope you enjoy them!!!

Dining Room (Before)
Using sliding doors from Home Depot, I instantly turned my open concept dining area into a private bedroom.
